Movement of “tokenization” of the economy is the main trend, says Campos Neto

The president of the Central Bank (BC), Roberto Campos Neto, said this Monday, 6, that the movement of “ tokenization ” of the economy is the main trend ahead, more than the debate itself around cryptoassets and CBDC (Moeda Central Bank Digital).

“What is at the heart of the debate? I don’t think it’s about crypto or CBDC, it’s about this ‘tokenization’ movement, that you can put value and you can trade things in the form of ‘ tokens ‘,” he said, at Valor’s Crypto Summit Rio 2022 event, promoted by Valor Capital. Group this Monday morning.

According to Campos Neto, the trend is towards a tokenized economy, in the face of a technological advance that “is here to stay”.

The BC president also reiterated that technology is a way to make financial intermediation “cheaper and more inclusive.”

Earlier, during the opening of his panel, Campos Neto said he was happy to address the topic of crypto assets.

“I’m glad I’m not talking about inflation today,” said the BC president.

No wonder we dedicate 100% of our efforts to collaborate with this new culture of economy through BLOCKBR – DIGITAL ASSETS . Soon we will complete 1 year in the market with an unparalleled learning scale in understanding how to unite two very different universes between web3 and web2.

But it’s like I always say: The new and the old will be stronger for the creation of new markets and benefiting everyone in a democratic and sometimes decentralized way. And that new investors who already support our culture are increasingly part of the universe of cryptoassets and/or digital assets .
